2. Purpose of Collection

We collect personal data for the following purposes:

  1. Service Delivery — Displaying maid agency profiles and information relevant to your stated preferences.
  2. Chatbot Operation — Processing your messages to generate AI-powered search results and profile information.
  3. Information Sharing — Sharing your contact details and stated preferences with agencies whose profiles appear on the Platform, at your request, so they may contact you with further information about their services. We do not refer, match, or place you with any agency or domestic helper.
  4. Service Communications — Contacting you via WhatsApp and/or email for follow-ups directly related to your inquiry or use of the Platform (e.g., follow-ups from agencies whose information you enquired about via the chatbot).
  5. Marketing Communications — Contacting you about our services or partner agency offerings, only where you have separately and explicitly opted in.
  6. Platform Improvement — Analysing usage patterns to improve our services.
  7. Legal Compliance — Meeting obligations under Singapore law.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the PDPA, we rely on the following bases:

  • Contractual Necessity: Processing needed to deliver the service to you, including authenticating your identity when you log in via Facebook or Google.
  • Consent: Granted when you click the WhatsApp button, submit a form, or use the chatbot — covering service-related follow-ups and, where you have separately opted in, marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 9).
  • Legitimate Interests: Analytics and platform security, where these do not override your rights.

While we take steps to protect your data through contractual safeguards, we cannot guarantee the independent practices of third parties beyond these contractual requirements. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes stated above, or as required by law. Personal data is retained for up to 5 years from the date of last interaction. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 9).

6. Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach caused by a sophisticated unauthorised third-party attack (e.g., cyberattack or hacking) that occurs despite our implementation of reasonable security measures, our liability for resulting loss shall be limited to the extent permitted by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012. We will notify affected individuals and the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) as required by law, including within the mandatory notification timelines.

7. Analytics and Behaviour Tracking

We use third-party analytics tools (which may include, but are not limited to, PostHog) to understand how users interact with the Platform. These tools collect behavioural data including page views, button clicks, session duration, device and browser information, and IP address. When you are signed in, these tools may link your behavioural data to your email address and name to provide a unified view of your activity on the Platform.

Analytics data may be stored on infrastructure located outside Singapore (see Section 10 — Cross-Border Data Transfers). Each analytics provider operates under its own privacy policy. We use analytics data solely to improve the Platform experience and do not share it with partner agencies or third parties for marketing purposes.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Session management and authentication
  • Behavioural analytics via PostHog
  • Personalisation

You may manage cookies via your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect Platform functionality and will prevent PostHog from tracking your session.

9. Your PDPA Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications or analytics tracking at any time without affecting your core use of the Platform. Withdrawing consent to sharing your data with partner agencies may limit your ability to receive further information from agencies via the Platform.
  • Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations

To exercise these rights, contact: support@maidinfo.sg. We will respond within 30 days of a verifiable request.

10. Cross-Border Data Transfers

Our partner LLM providers and cloud infrastructure services may be located outside Singapore. By using the Platform, you consent to your personal data being transferred to, stored, and processed in countries outside Singapore, including countries whose data protection laws may differ from Singapore's PDPA. Where such transfers occur, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as contractual data protection obligations with the recipient.

11. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Our Platform does not currently respond to DNT signals, as there is no industry-standard mechanism for doing so. You may opt out of analytics tracking by managing your cookie preferences in your browser settings.

12. Children

Our Platform is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@maidinfo.sg and we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy at any time. The revised date appears at the top of this page. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.

For material changes — including changes that expand the categories of data we collect, introduce new third-party recipients, or significantly alter your rights — we will provide advance notice via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Where required by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 or applicable law, we will seek your active re-confirmation before such changes take effect.
